Editorial policy
Who answers for what Fox021 publishes, how we check a page before it goes out and after, and how we fix mistakes, with an open log of corrections.
Who answers for a page
Every guide has an editor, and the editor’s name stands under it. The editor personally reviews every guide right after it is published, and every glossary term and template as well; the page shows a “Reviewed by” line with his name and the date of the review. Market and idea pages are assembled by AI, and the editors answer for them as a team: a page goes out only after it passes the automatic checks, and an editor reads a sample from every batch. How a page is prepared is described in How we make the pages.
The rules
- A number comes with its source. Each figure links to the page it was read on, with a date.
- Quotes are word for word. One that does not match its source is not published.
- We take no money for mentions: nobody pays us to name a service or to link to it.
- Dates stay visible. Each page shows the date of its data and the date of its last edit.
- The review is visible. A guide names the editor who reviewed it and the date of the review, and so do terms and templates.
How we correct mistakes
- At the bottom of every guide and every market or idea page there is a “Report an error” link. It opens an email to the editor with the page’s address already in it. You fill in nothing on the website, and the website stores nothing.
- The editor checks the report against the sources. When the mistake is confirmed, we fix the page and update its date of edit.
- A correction that changes a number or a fact on a page, or its conclusion, goes into the log below with its date and the page, saying what changed. Typos and wording are fixed without an entry.
