Website and landing page: how to build a landing page for your idea
A landing page is a single page with one goal, usually a lead form, that people reach from an ad, an email or a search result. Once your idea is checked and your concept is ready, build one page that states the offer and asks for one action.

Where to start with your landing page
Learn how a landing page is built
Start with the build guides on the page's structure and copy, then the form and the mobile layout. They cover the parts every page needs before you think about traffic.
Take the template and the terms
The landing page template gives a section-by-section order you can fill in with your concept. The glossary explains terms you will meet, such as call to action and social proof.
Compare your draft with examples
Look at the examples before you publish and check that your headline and proof come in the same order. Cut any section that does not help the visitor take the one action.
Decide who builds and publishes it
The landing page stage of Go to market makes a published landing page with a lead form. Buying the domain and paying for the traffic you send to the page stay your job.
Improve the page once visitors arrive
When people start landing on the page, use the conversion guide to change one element at a time and see whether more of them fill in the form.

Go to market: landing page
- Landing page — a published landing page with a lead form.
The concept comes first. Go to market is built on the concept of a checked idea: first the check and the concept, then Go to market.
What stays yours: paying for the domain and the traffic to the page
Questions
Do I need my own domain for a landing page?
You can publish on a builder's subdomain while you test, but your own domain keeps the same address if you change builders and matches your business email. The domain is yours to buy and renew. The landing page stage publishes the page with a lead form, and you connect the domain you pay for.
How much does a landing page cost?
The cost depends on who builds it: you on a builder plan, or someone else: a designer or Go to market. In Go to market the landing page is one stage of 13 steps, and Go to market is $99 once; it needs a finished concept first. The domain and the traffic you send to the page are paid separately by you.
How long should a landing page be?
It should be as long as the visitor needs to decide on the one action you ask for. A waitlist or a free signup can work with a headline and a few benefits above a short form, while a paid offer usually needs more proof and a price, plus answers to objections. The template in the glossary and templates section gives a full order of sections you can cut down.
Can I have a landing page without a website?
Yes. A landing page can be the only page you publish while you test demand for your offer. Add a full website later, when you have more to show, and the planned guide on a small business website in the build group covers that step.
What is the difference between a click-through and a lead-generation landing page?
A lead-generation page asks for contact details through a form on the page itself. A click-through page explains the offer and sends the visitor on with a button, often to a checkout or a signup on another page. Choose lead generation if you need a list to follow up with; choose click-through if the sale happens elsewhere.
How do I get traffic to a new landing page?
Paid ads and search can send visitors, and so can email and social posts to people who already know you. Give each source its own tracked link so you can see which one brings leads, and judge the page by form submissions rather than visits. Go to market publishes the page; paying for traffic and running the campaigns stay your job.
How we made this page. The list of guides is our map of this sub-hub's topics: a guide with a link is built and checked by an editor, and the others are planned. The terms and the template come from the site's one library, Glossary and Templates, and this page lists the ones its topics need. The block on what Go to market makes gives its stage and its price from our price list, and names what stays your job. Prepared on 14 October 2026.
