Competitor analysis: who ranks, at what price, and where they are weak
The free idea check finds your competitors. It reads the search results, their sites and their prices, then shows where customers complain and nobody fixes it.
How the check finds competitors
It is one step of the full idea check and runs together with demand, customer pains and unit economics.
We read the search results
For the phrases buyers type, we see who sits at the top and what share of visibility each one holds.
We read their sites
What they offer, what they bet on and at what price, quoted from the page with its source.
We weigh them
Direct competitors and alternatives, a big player in the niche, ad pixels on the site and its age.
We look for gaps
Complaints from reviews are matched against what competitors promise, to see which pain nobody covers.
What each competitor row tells you
Every row of the table links to the competitor's page, so you can open it and check the quote yourself.
Visibility
The share of buying searches where the competitor shows up. A share of 40% means they meet almost every second customer before you do.
Price
The price as their page states it, quoted with the link. When a site shows no price, the report says so and never makes one up.
Type
A direct competitor sells the same thing to the same people. An alternative solves the job another way and still takes the demand.

Questions
How do I find competitors for a business idea?
Search the way a customer does, with the phrases a buyer types into Google. Whoever ranks at the top takes the demand, even an alternative. The check does it for you and shows each one's share of visibility.
What is an alternative, and what is an indirect competitor?
A direct competitor sells the same thing to the same people. An alternative solves the job another way, like an app for ordering coffee ahead. Direct ones weigh most in the score.
Where do the competitors' prices come from?
From the pages of their sites, quoted word for word with a link. When a site shows no price, the report says so: we do not invent a number.
What if no competitors show up?
That is not always good news: sometimes there is no demand either. So the check reads competitors together with search demand and with the complaints in reviews and forums.
Can I see a real example?
Our published checks so far are of businesses in Russia, so their tables are in Russian. Check your own idea to get the table for your market.
